“ Our experience in Bhutan with Phurpa and Bhutan Sangha Tours and Travels was simply outstanding. The arrangements were complicated by the fact that I was in Singapore at the time, and my sister and brother-in-law were in Montreal. Phurpa had to deal with multiple time zones and (somewhat) demanding clients. He recommended an itinerary and hotels in advance of the trip, and we were able to comment and ask for some small changes based on Trip Advisor reports. He did everything smoothly and without complaint, until we had a travel plan that suited our needs. He met us at the airport with his driver and immaculate van and from that point every day was a delight and an education. We'd been a little worried about the quality of hotels in Bhutan, but Phurpa's choices were excellent -- in some cases stunning in terms of architecture, meals, or location. He was with us through the trip, providing commentary and insight into Bhutanese customs and the people.

Bhutan is an enchanted kingdom, but to truly understand and engage in all its delights and mysteries, a good guide is indispensable. Phurpa was that guide. He showed us elements and dimensions of Bhutan that we would have completely overlooked, and gave us a much deeper and profound understanding of a country and people steeped in history, tradition and religion.”

"We had an excellent time in Bhutan with Phurpa from Bhutan Sangha Tours & Travels as our guide.

Bhutan is opening up to the world, but it is still a relatively secluded country where local expertise and knowledge really make the difference for a successful visit. Phurpa is knowledgeable about the history, religion, culture and society of Bhutan, and he was always happy to share stories with us. He is also a meticulous organiser, and the transport and accommodation arrangements were seamless. Most importantly, Phurpa is a kind and generous person and this is reflected in the services his company provided.

Despite the full itinerary, we did not get the chance to see everything we wanted to due to the constraints of our trip dates, but when we return to Bhutan to watch the colourful festivals or archery contests, hike in the mountains, study Bhutanese culture in more depth, and visit the beautiful temples and Dzongs, Phurpa will certainly be our first choice for a guide.

    Here is my comment:

There are not enough superlatives to describe Bhutan Sangha Tours and Travels, and especially Phurpa, our intrepid guide.  From the outset, Phurpa was flexible and responsive to our particular needs.  Our tour was a private one, with only 3 people, but all with different needs and coming from different parts of the world.  Phurpa prepared a wonderful itinerary, completely suited to our needs, with just enough of all the aspects of Bhutanese culture, trekking, nature and spirituality.

I had some personal health issues which needed to be accommodated in terms of diet, and Phurpa handled it all, without being intrusive.  One morning, I was quite ill, and we could not leave at the appointed time, but Phurpa was the picture of patience and quickly adjusted our itinerary.

Our trip to Bhutan was truly one of the very best vacations I have ever had, and this was entirely due to Phurpa and his staff.

"Our travel in Bhutan was frankly very pleasant. Thanks to Phurpa and his travel agency, Bhutan Sangha. We even got to visit some unusual Buddhist places of worship. His service was excellent including a magnificent car SUV and meals adapted to our western tastes. Thanks Phurpa!"

"It was my first visit to Bhutan and the trip was very successful. All the credit goes to Phurpa since he helped me plan all the itineraries with great care, efficiency and attention. He has an excellent knowledge of Bhutanese culture, Buddhism and important sites and treasure around the country. Besides he added personal warmth and humor to the trip. He was patient in answering everything that I asked. I found that Bhutan is such a country that every foreigner would love to visit at least once. The sites are just amazing and people are so sweet and friendly. I am fortunate to have found Bhutan Sangha Tours and Travels and Phurpa as a guide. The days spent in Bhutan will be always cherished and mesmerized throughout my life."
